Product details
- Type Ignition
- Vendor AMP
- SKU IGN-6
The IGN-6 coil pack may look like a stock Chrysler or Dodge coil at first glance—resembling those used in Intrepids or LH-platform minivans—but this is not your average factory part. Though it shares the same external mold and bolt pattern as some OEM Mopar coils, internally it's a performance-upgraded unit capable of delivering up to 58 mJ per spark, depending on the strength of the ignition module used.
Designed for six-cylinder wasted spark systems, this coil features three paired towers and is well-suited for a wide variety of V6 and inline-six applications. It’s especially popular as an upgrade for Buick V6s, but can be adapted to other engines by matching the spark plug wire pairs to your engine's firing order.
Note: Requires external ignition drivers. Perfect for use with our QuadSpark ignition module.
Application and Wire Numbering
The molded-in spark plug wire numbers match a 1-2-3-4-5-6 or 1-6-5-4-3-2 firing order. If you're running a different firing order (e.g. 1-5-3-6-2-4 for many inline sixes), simply rewire the plug wires to match your engine’s pairing.
Critical Installation Notice
If using this coil with a QuadSpark module, your ECU's Spark Output setting must be set to "Going High". Failing to do so may result in permanent damage to both the QuadSpark and the IGN-6 coil.
-
B+ – Switched 12V (never apply voltage when key is off)
-
Remaining pins – Coil trigger inputs for each tower pair
