Andy Leach: The World’s Fastest ’34 Chevy

Andy Leach of CAL Automotive Creations is no stranger to building some of the finest hot rods on the planet. As a Ridler Award winner, Andy is known for combining flawless craftsmanship with outright performance. His latest creation, the “World’s Fastest ’34 Chevy,” is proof that a true show car can also be a full-blown race car.

In just two years, Andy and his team transformed a 1934 Chevrolet coupe into a Bonneville contender. At Bonneville Speedweek 2021, with Shane Stubbs behind the wheel, the car laid down an incredible 279 mph average through mile four, peaking at 284 mph top speed. And this is just the beginning—Andy and Shane are hungry for more and plan to return to Bonneville in 2022 to push the boundaries even further.

A True Fusion of Show and Go

While many Bonneville cars are purpose-built machines, Andy’s ’34 Chevy stands out with its flawless fit and finish. The coupe is not just a salt flat warrior—it’s also a rolling showcase of hot rod craftsmanship. Every weld, panel, and detail was designed with both speed and style in mind.

With an average nearing 280 mph in its debut outing, this coupe has already proven it has the speed to contend with the world’s best. And with Andy Leach and Shane Stubbs driving development forward, the quest for 300 mph is clearly on the horizon.
