Whassup to all our DIYAutoTune/AMPEFI Family!
Jerry Hoffmann here, Founder of DIYAutoTune and AMPEFI. I’m writing to share some big news with all of you. Like, really big news, at least to me. But you guys– you guys are gonna be good to go. I’m excited about what’s next for all of us.
After 19 incredible years that have brought me opportunities I could have only dreamed of before all of this, I’ve decided to pass the torch. Yup, you guessed — DIYAutoTune and AMPEFI have a new owner: EFI Innovations, Inc. You may know them better as DD-EFI, along with a new business partner. Kurtis Warne of DD-EFI will be taking on the CEO role with Steven VanOrder as COO, with Scott Keiser as CFO. That’s right y’all, you may be losing me, but you’re gaining three. This is going to be an amazing thing for the future of American Made Engine Management.
It’s a bittersweet moment, but I’m genuinely excited about what the future holds.
First and foremost, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Whether you’ve been a loyal customer, a trusted dealer, or a valued vendor or business partner, your support has been the bedrock of our success. From the early startup days when I was literally doing EVERYTHING in the spare bedroom of my first home, to becoming a global player in automotive engine management systems, you’ve been with us every step of the way. It’s been an amazing journey, and I’m profoundly grateful.
I have a huge number of friends and contacts in this industry that I look forward to staying in contact with. I’m not going too far… in fact, so far, these guys aren’t even kicking me out of my office! 😉
Now, you might be wondering, “What’s next for me?” Well, don’t worry; I’m not hanging up my hat just yet. In fact, I’m pretty pumped about some new projects I’ve got cooking in some other markets I’m interested in. While I can’t spill the beans just yet, exciting things are definitely on the horizon. And I’ll be working out of the same building as the DIYAutoTune and AMPEFI team for much of this– I’ll still be around, just not pulling the strings anymore.
I want to assure you that DIYAutoTune/AMPEFI is in great hands with EFI Innovations, Inc. I recently told an industry friend about the sale, and the question they asked was—“Did you sell to a huge corporation or VC fund? Or did you sell to another Jerry?” I responded – I sold to THREE Jerry’s. These guys are as down-to-earth and real as it gets. All staff is remaining unchanged and are fully secure in their positions and are critical in the future of the company, and EFI Innovations will continue to operate out of the same physical location, right here in Gainesville, GA. Nothing is changing in that regard.
DD-EFI is definitely known for their commitment to quality and innovation, and for their amazing customer service, and I have no doubt that they’ll continue to build on our legacy and expand their own. Expect even more exciting developments in the pipeline.
So, stay tuned, stay engaged with the DIYAutoTune/AMPEFI community, and look forward to some very cool things to come. The best is yet to come!
